FireSpeedy Motivation

Remember FireSpeedy? Kapil Goyal, a new blogger, shares some of his blogging goals and his plans to reach his goals with the concept that “Consistency is Key” on this week’s Motivational Monday. We shared his start to blogging last month.

FireSpeedy’s Goals

“My blogging goals are just simple. I want to become a famous blogger and earn a lot of money.

My plans are consistent.
First I research a keyword for the article through a keyword research tool.
Then I note down the important headings and information on notepad.
Finally I write the article and then paste it down into my website. I perform some editing and add internal and outbound links to the article.
The most important part of an article is images. Finally I post the article.
I have not achieved so much, but the thing I have achieved is experience and the role of hard work in life.”

Consistency is definitely key in life and especially blogging. If you aren’t consistent, your readers won’t know what to expect and will lose interest.

Consistency in Exercise

One can relate being consistent to working out and being healthy. If you exercise one day a week, then don’t do anything for the rest of the week. Then a few weeks later decide to work out again, will you build muscle? Will you notice any differences in your body? Definitely not.

Sometimes it can feel very slow going as you take little steps each day, but after a month, or after a year of being consistent, you will see your growth grow exponentially. Too often in today’s world, we want everything now, but that’s not how life works. Progress takes time and consistency.

Water Hyacinth

In the book, The Slight Edge, by Jeff Olson, he shares an analogy of the Water Hyacinth. The water hyacinth grows in ponds. It grows by doubling day by day. Nobody notices it on the first day or even the fourth day. Even at two weeks, one wouldn’t be able to see much growth at all. On day 15, it barely covers one square foot of water. Not until day 20 might a person notice it at all. On day 29, the pond’s surface is still half water, but guess what happens on Day 30? Day 30 you can’t see the pond at all!

The Slight Edge is a fabulous personal development book about turning simple disciplines into huge success.  It was one of the first personal development books I ever read thanks to some friends of mine. I highly encourage you to read it if you need some extra motivation. Furthermore, it illustrates how starting now and doing small and simple things consistently, you can have great success.

Consistency is Key

Results are never instant. You need hard, disciplined, daily work consistently done over time. Also as you do that, don’t compare yourself to others because you might try to change everything that is working for you because you’re trying to be like someone else. We are all different and are all on different paths on life. One of my favorite quotes, “A flower does not think of competing against the flower next to it. It just blooms,” by Zen Shin.

Thank you Kapil for sharing your goals and motivation. We look forward to seeing you grow with your blog. Stay consistent!
